What's your inspiration?

I have spent the last 2 years staring at this photo every day. It's the desktop background on my work computer and my laptop. I shot this Dec 5th, 2009 at about 7:20 am at Sloat at the south end of Ocean Beach. There were about 15 hellmen paddling out to do battle with these bombs at the time but I was able to snap a few shots before anyone made it out to the lineup.

This wave represents so many things to me. It's perfect. It's about 15 feet, barreling in both directions, glassy and thick. It originated over 1,000 miles away and was influenced and shaped by variable weather, water temperature, geological features and depths all before it slammed into the sandbar at Ocean beach and folded perfectly into a picture-prefect A-frame. I shot photos for hours that day but did not see one more wave like this one. This wave went unridden but not unappreciated. Everyone in the parking lot that cold morning saw this wave and it served as the fuel for the 30 minute, 30 duck-dive paddle out; After all that effort, there might be one of these as the reward for the truly committed.

At FREESTYLE Web Solutions, projects are a collaboration where many ideas are shared and may help shape the evolution of a brand, a logo, a website. And when a project has reached the end of this evolution, it inspires admiration, appreciation and participation.

FREESTYLE Web Solutions was founded by Gabe Brown in 2007. After studying Photography and Graphic Design at San Francisco's Academy of Art College, Gabe spent 2 years working as a web producer for Autodesk. Following his passion for the water and exciting content, Gabe unhitched from California and in a 34' Motorhome kiteboarded and photographed his away around this country, documenting his travels on the web before the days of Facebook and myspace. Gabe's website drew the attention of many and while on the road, raised the production budget for his first full length film, WindReels Volume 1, a Kiteboarding lifestyle video magazine. After Gabe's film was released World Publications offered Gabe the job of Kiteboarding magazine Editor. Gabe ran the magazine for 3 years and in 2007, with a desire to travel a little less, was inspired to start FREESTYLE Web Solutions. Gabe started out helping Marin County local businesses create web presences and implement online marketing strategies to suit their industry needs.

Over the last 5 years, technologies have become more affordable and available to smaller businesses and FREESTYLE Web Solutions has grown to provide its clients with more complete Web Solutions, including graphic design, web application development, video marketing and social media
